2gb enough in C?

hey guys i was wondering if i only have 2gb open in my C drive is okay? I was running very low because i have my 300gb HD partitioned 25/275 and when i downloaded i forgot to download to the D drive. Anyhow i deleted a bunch of trash folders i didn't need. I came from 600mb up to 2gb open in my C drive. Is it fine if i have only 2gb open?
Also, how do i change it to where when i download it goes to my D drive? For some reason it always tries to go to my program files of drive C and i only have 2gb open in that partition.

You have to manually change the directory where you want to download to. Your computer, if not already will run slower with less disk space available.
 
Your system is going to run a lot slower with your hard drive being that full. Also, you won't be able to defragment your hard drive resulting in an even slower system with fragmented files all over your hard drive. I would clear up at least ten percent of your hard drive so you can defragment.

Disk defragmenter requires at least 15 percent free space.
