2GB graphics card, price range 200-350?

Well that one does have the switch with a dual bios, but its not a reference card. A reference card looks like the one above. You can unlock any of the cards with a 2gb of memory. You just dont have a way of setting it back to the back up bios (the one without the switch does not have a back up bios) without the switch if you have a bad flash.

Even 1280MB won't be enough for GTA IV and BF3. You need 2GB these days. 1GB is a minimum.

I'd probably go for a 6950: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150523

Bonus points for finding a reference card that you can unlock the shaders on.

if only your refrence card was a 2gb and reviewed well

if ya got the money i say go for the 6970, so you don't get your hopes up on saving some bucks then find you didn't or don't have enough memory.

I'd rather have a 570 as well. I did have one for a while. In any DX10 or DX11 title, my vram was always maxed. That's not saying that 2GB or more will give you more fps, that's not the case at all. What will happen is that in situations where a game will easily consume that much VRAM, it will stop stuttering, compared to 1GB cards. Even if they are the same card (ie 6950 1gb/2gb).

It's better to buy now and be prepared than to save some money now and be lacking in playability when you want it.

i have the money, next week i will have enough, so u guys suggest the radeon 6870 2GB? because i am very keen on getting it, i want to know if it will max out alot of games, and if i will need to upgrade for a while? and is anyone interested in buying my radeon 6870??

At 1920 x 1080 i doubt he is actually seeing a buffer overload.

You just don't have enough grunt. Your motherboard chipset is budget, and your CPU can be overclocked. Buy another card and crossfire. Its not VRAM.

Agreed. Worry about VRAM when all games somehow need 2GB otherwise they stutter. Until then, well, it's nice to be prepared :)
