Just one more question which would be better performance wise??
1. CRUCIAL, 4GB (4 x 1GB) PC2-5300 DDR2 667MHz CL5 SDRAM DIMM, Non-ECC

2. CORSAIR, 2GB (2 x 1GB) XMS Xpert PC2-6400 DDR2 800MHz CL4 (4-4-4-12) SDRAM DIMM, Non-ECC, LEDs

Technically, 800MHz would be faster(along with having less sticks, yielding lower T values) However, most people will say there's no real noticeable difference between 667MHz and 800MHz. But even so, I can't imagine why you'd need over 2G of RAM. I've never even come close to running out on my system, even without a swap file.

I'd choose depending the specs of the RAM. If the second is overclockable RAm then i'd get that and just overclock it to 800 as most performance 667 will overclock that high.

I would take the 2GB. Remember, you can overclock the DDR2 800 ram as well. Also, 2GB is all you really need.

At this point 2GB is more than enough unless you are doing very RAM intensive things and it will be enough for a long time. Plus you can move to 4GB later if nevessary.

I ran Vista on 512MB DDR333.. Also: Vista DOES NOT need more the 2GB, I played WoW, had Avast open, Everest, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Skype, STEAM and Firefox all open on 1 ONE gig of DDR400

You can play it like that, but its similar as to doing all that with 512MB of RAM on XP. You would notice a huge difference going from 1GB to 2GB on Vista.

I ran VISTA just fine on my old Compaq with 1GB. And on my current machine, I have been editing stuff in Premiere, Photoshop, and of course chatting on Trillian and using Firefox with no memory problems what so ever. Even 1GB will do most anything without a swap file, but I have had a couple games run out of memory from time to time.

hmm if your looking forward to the future, 4gb will be the only way to go, but as of now, i have never had a game run out of memory with 1.25gb of ram on med/high settings.

(but black and white 2 did run very close to the limit.)
