2GHz w/ 512 PC800

Should I get a faster processor? I was wondering if perhaps my computer doesnt even use all the RAM that I have. Or maybe it does, and I need more RAM, although since I hear rambus is fast, that probably isn't the case.

'Cause this stupid thing is a Dell, which I bought before I realized I could have built it if I learned a couple extra things.

So my consideration is whether or not to buy a 3.0 w/ an 800 MHz bus, and maybe have to get a new mobo because I doubt that the mobo is HT compatible.

What do you think?

P.S. - Of all of you out there, I probably know the least about computers, so, keep that in mind. :)
 
a faster processor will mean a motherboard upgrade. Because you have an i850 chipset you have a socket423 P4 which has been discontinued and 2GHz is the fastest one yuo can put in there anyway. Also since you have a Dell you will need a new powersupply as well if you upgrade your motherboard.
