2TB Memory Stick

Hello forum,

so I have lately bought a memory stick from eBay described as 2TB. I did not really need it, but I was fascinated about the size. I am having issue now that every time I copy some sample files such as some TV series or large bunk of photos, then always some of it is corrupted.

I have tried formatting the memory stick to different file systems: exFAT, NTFS, but it did not help. Is there any way to make it usable, so that most of the files will not get corrupted while copying? Do you have any ideas about what is happening or how to bypass it? I am also not sure what feedback leave to the seller on eBay

im pretty sure for the price and amount of storage it may be quite not what it seems £40 for such an item doesnt quite seem right too me. dont know how you could even fit 2tb in that aswell. And its also only 8mb/s transfer speed which is slow for a thumb drive.

im pretty sure someone with more knowledge can confirm but i would send it back, i highly doubt theres any way thats 2TB hense the corrupted files and low price. Real 1tb sicks are much more expensive and much larger.

You were ripped off. The firmware was modified to report 2 TB. It probably just contains 2 GB of storage. Any time you transfer more than the actual quantity of storage the drive has no place to put the data, hence corruption.

I'd suggest doing more research before buying into 'amazingly cheap ebay deals'. You can see most actual 1 TB flash drives on the market for hundreds of dollars/quid.
