2x3870 or 3870X2

2x3870's seem to be a bit better. But, what motherboard do you have or getting? You could get a single 3870X2, then buy a 3870 or another 3870X2 later on for tri-fire or quad crossfire

I didn't know you could buy one extra 3870 and then tri xfire . Thats good to know. I'm not really sure abour the mobe yet. It depends on what GPU i choose. Buts it is either going to be a P35 something or X38

That is also what I'm planning on doing. I'm only a little insecure in doing it beacuse one of my friends says that it is a waste of money and that I should rather get a P35 because of the price
 
The X38 chipset is better than the P35 all around. When i upgraded to crossfire from a single 3870, i got about a 80-90% increase in performance.

Whoa ! That is a lot. If I go with the 3870X2 which is cheaper in my country it would be almost the performance as 2x3870, right?
 
Yeah, two dedicated 3870's seem to have a edge, and come with DDR4 memory.

But, it would be great to go with the 3870X2 to leave room for upgrading later on. There not enough difference to matter, really..

Thanks. I'll go with the 3870X2 then. I like the idea of being able to upgrade to something better without too much trouble :)
