3.0 dual core or 3.4 hyperthreading?

Hey,
I'm building a comp for my mom and I was hoping to get a little advice as to what processor I should get. I've narrowed it down to either the 3.0Ghz dual core P4 or the 3.4Ghz hyperthreading 64 bit P4. She's a high school computer teacher so she knows what she's doing on it, but it's still pretty much for personal use like e-mail, music, and video. I'm leaning towards the dual core, but the slower speed, higher price, and same overall L2 have me questioning that. Which would you suggest and why? (p.s. she despises AMD so don't bother telling me to get her one)

Get her a manual on the difference in ALL processer types, the dual core 3.0, single 3.4, and AMD TOO, and let her decide :P

For what the system would be used for the 3.4 w/HT would be better (basically just a price comparison). If you really want a dual core look at the 820 (2.8GHz) should be sufficient and it's not real expensive.

Alrighty, I'll have her look at AMD's as well (no promises), any particular series to look at? I don't follow them very much. And the 2.8 dual core was a good idea, a lot less money for almost the same processor, will put that one in the running for sure. Thanks a lot.
