3.00+ GHz???

I've got a Pentium 4 at 2.66GHz, do you suggest I upgrade to 3.00+ GHz? Will I experience a great difference? Or should I wait for the release of 4GHz?

I doubt that you would be able to see a huge difference at all. If anything, I do not think it's worth the extra you would have to put it. I would wait and upgrade the entire PC :)

I think he meants upgrading your RAM and Video card.

As for your CPU, i wouldnt waste money on it, since it would only be 340Mhz faster. Just o'c it to 3.0Ghz+
 
If I overclock it to 3GHz will I experience and freezes of anything else?

by the way isn't my nvidia GeForce 6600 with 256DDR good enough?
 
Ya its a good card, but not top of the line. The only way to tell if there will be freezes is to test it, start by upping the FSB 5Mhz at a time until it either becomes unstable or it reaches 3Ghz.
 
matters what you do fade to green i say keep it then build a whole new pc that can be for video editing or what ever and the other for what ever you purpuse you build for
 
yea youd see a difference, most definitely. clock speeds werent the only thing they improved, get a prescott core. supposedly theyre better.
im an AMD guy though.
