3 Monitors, Graphic Card Question

Yup. the only thing that could potentially go wrong is that you could have a driver problem.... or, the world could spontaneously implode due to the oceans being pulled down by gravity, which would make us all either
a) die
or
b) cause us to take the secondary video card out of your computer, thus reversing time back to a point in history where you didnt have three monitors, and something more important than that 3rd monitor was deemed the better buy.

basically, driver issues could occur, but if you have those issues, post back here and we'll help you work through them

You can use 2 cards if you want to but for best performance I would buy one good card or you could use the 8600 and then buy a Triple Head To Go (TH2GO) which will let you hook up 3 monitors to one port. The only thing is the TH2GO is like $200 but it would be worth it. The other option is getting another card as you mentioned and using some kinda software. Do you plan to have the screen split so the image runs across all three monitors or do you want each to display the same thing. In order to get the split screen you will have to use some kinda software as nvidia software and windows wont let you use 3 monitors with 2 cards. Heres some software that should do the trick!
