3 Monitors question.

Instead of using a USB to VGA type of adapter/cable is it possible to use this

DVI-1 to 2 splitter to have 2 extended desktops, because I heard you can't use 3 monitors with 1 video card unless you have some sort of USB to VGA.

I have 1 connected to the HDMI output, but won't allow me to use 3 monitors at once.

This is only a guess here but that adapter looks like it could do one of two things.

It'll either just split that output and mirror it on two monitors OR it'll make those two monitors appear as one to the computer (just as an extended resolution).

You can use more than 2 monitors with newer graphics cards, heck some support up to 6, just depends on your application and how much you're willing to spend.
