3 pin fan splitter

hey all, i am looking to add another fan to my system and i am trying to figure out how i can power it. my stock fan funs off a 3 pin plug, and online i have found a splitter cable that would allow you to plug in 2 fans and power them off the 1 three pin slot on the motherboard. my question is, does this split the current going to the fans essentially in half, or will both fans still draw the power that they need?

Both fans will run the same speed as if one were attached, but it might confuse the MB on reporting fan speed. Shouldn't be any problem unless you're trying to run 2 large or high speed fans, but you might want to check your manual to see if the max amperage for the headers is listed just in case.

Adding an extra fan will draw more power for sure; It should not harm your board.
