300gb external hardrive...

I recently bought a 300gb External Hardrive, and i have noticed that recently when i put it on and leave it on it makes such a loud sound for however long its on for, and its starting to p*** me off. Does any1 know what i can do to prevent this happening? APART FROM PUTTING 10 PILLOWS ON TOP OF IT

could either buy an enclosure or suspend you'r drive (if its vibration this will help a lot)
Have a listen to the drive with the case open ( if you can bare it:P ) and try and figure out if its a noise made by vibration.
