well i was wondering what would happen if i install a 9600 gt graphics card into my inspironn530. the power supply is about 300w and it has a dual core processor 3.17mhps.

Any suggestions on what to upgrade on my computer?
would the card still work or will it "explode"?

should be okay i had something around that card forget exactly which one but it was running off around the same size power supply

but the recommendations says to have a 400-500w power supply and the 300w doesn't another 6pin connector. is it still okay to actually put in the card and run it with my computer specs?

A 400 watt psu with 28 amps on the 12 volt rail is recommended for that card. The dell psu won't even come close to those requirements, you will need to replace it, especially if it doesn't have a 6pin pci express power connector.

No. Without the 6 pin power connector it will not power up. Knowing that it comes from a inspironn 530 I have doubts that that is a quality PSU in the first place. Do not use that card until you get a better PSU to properly handle your system.
