its gonna be around that price but I think they both require 350watt powersupplies, correct me if im wrong. HOwever, i have the x850pro which required 350watt psu and it ran fine on my 300watt psu with only 15amps on the 12v rail...
Since my mother board only supports a 300w power supply would I be better of getting this mobo that comes free if you buy the 7800gt card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813188002 and then this case for better cooling then my current casr and it comes with a 450w psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811156175 and then just transfer my cd drives my amd athlon 64 3500+ my ram my hard drive and my 9 in 1 card reader? Or would I be better of take a chance on a 6800gt card useing a 300w psu.
ATM just the case and the mother board that comes with a discount for the 7800gt card I am probley going to get. Will the power supply on the case work with sli?
Or could someone recommand a case and a desent power supply of around 450w (not looking for anything fancy such as light etc just A bang for ur buck case and power supply) and will support the motherboard, the card and sli configurations thanks.
i've never heard of a motherboard not supporting a power supply over 300watts. your motherboard will take all the power it needs and nothing more (as long as its working correctly) there is absolutely no problem with getting any psu you need.
obviously you need some power in hand so that it operates without fluctuating.
i always try to ensure that i have at least 100 watts over what i think the system will need.
