32-bit or 64-bit

Hello. I am about to build a new desktop (this is the 3rd one), and I am trying to decide whether to go with a 32-bit copy of vista or a 64-bit. I know a lot of older programs have issues with the 64-bit OS, so I am trying to decide which to go with. What are the advantages of the 64-bit OS other than the additional RAM capability? Thanks.

I have Vista 64-bit, and I havent' encounted any problems with it. I haven't compared 32-bit Vista with 64-bit, but I remember hearing from my teacher that 64-bit OS are faster...

Go with 64-bit, you get the advantage of being able to have more than 4gb of memory mainly, but i havent encountered any compatibility problems yet with vista 64 bit.

I have two 64bit Vista machines running and two drives that had 64bit Windows 7 and zero issues with any of them regarding compatibility, etc. You should always think ahead when upgrading and I don't see a very long future for 32bit.
