32 bit ram problem

i have a custom built pc with a p5g43t-m pro motherboard with 2 ram slots i have installed 32 bit windows 7 and with a 2gb stick in a paticular slot all is well, but when i tried to install another 2gb stick the pc wnt load , if i put each stick in the paticular slot which works on their own they both work bt together they wnt work at all ,its like 1 of my ram slots is inactive :/ will installing 64 ibt solve this?? cheers , pcktwtch
 
Put your first two memory in slot A0 and slot A1. does it boot?
Install memory in slot B0 and boot. then try installing the next in B1 and reboot. is it ok. If your having issues remove one at a time out of B slot and boot. 32 bit will work but only see maybe 3-1/2 gig. 3 gig will work fine.
64 bit will let you see all 4 gig and more. 32 bit will not keep it from starting though. it just won't see it all. but will start. if it works i would install it if ya have it.

You either have a bad ram stick or bad memory slot. Try using only one stick and test in each slot to see if it still boots up, then test both sticks in and then switch slots and see what happens. This way you should be able to tell whether its bad ram or a bad slot.
 
the sticks work definetley and the board is only a year old and i havent damaged it at all so i doubt a bad ram slot

Could it also be that both of his memory slots are used?
Some motherboards have them both used. Then again, i could be wrong.

reading the specs on your particular mobo, it appears as though its not compatible with DDR3, it only supports DDR2 RAM.
