32-bit to 64-bit woes

I have a fairly old PC 2007ish, over the years i have done a handful of upgrades to keep it somewhat up to date. I have recently upgraded it from 32-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7. At the same time I did the OS i went from 2 to 4gb of ram. I understand that 32-bit will only support roughly 3gb so i didn't upgrade sooner, however since I went to 64-bit windows it is still limiting my usable ram to 3.25gb, as if I was still running 32-bit. I did some research and found that it is possible that there is a BIOS setting that limits max ram, I looked but could not find an adjustment for any memory setting at all in my BIOS. I am thinking now that it's possible my motherboard does not support more ram. I would very much like to utilize all the ram I have, any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated. Basic specs are: Intel E2180 processor, 945GCT-M3 Mainboard, 4gb DDR2 memory, Nvidia 9800GT video card, 550w PSU.
