32bit and 64bit installed at once?

Wondering if anyone might be able to shed some light on this -
I brought a new Gigabyte Booktop tablet netbook and it has a gadget that I can double click on to switch between 32bit and 64bit windows 7 (just restarts machine and it is in that mode. I can see a cdrive with 32bit and ddrive with 64bit and edrive with 246gb free for data.

But from what I can remember you could not have both installed at once or what. I'm not too sure as I've always just used 32bit no need for 64bit but the machine has 4gb ram and under 32bit it says 2.3 usable and under 64 3.2.

Just curious

You could do this via dual boot or even via a VM but in order for it to be legit it would require 2 license keys since a key lets you install either 32 or 64 but not both.

That's odd. If I would ever buy a new netbook with a pre-loaded OS on it, I would definitely reformat and install windows again.

I would delete the 32 bit partition and expand the 64 bit partition to fit the whole drive. Seems weird that it would have both installed.

It just gives you a choice during initial setup. I have had mates accidentally install their OSs in Dutch or similar. Can you imagine? LOL

Get a DVD image and your key and reinstall.
