3500+ or Dual Core 3800+

I'm torn between these two CPU's.

Would it be worth the extra money to get the 3800? Would I see any perfromance difference in games?

Also, how do these two compare to the Pentium CPU's in the same price range?

I'll be using it for mainly games, and web browsing.

If it mainly games then dont even bother comparing it to an intel. AMD remains the way to go.

As for the two choices the X2 would be better. With more games moving to multithreads the dual core will start to pull away

apj is right, if your mainly doing it for games, go with AMD, and out of those 2 choices, i would go with the X2 3800+.

i would go for the x2 but if you on a budget 3500 is fast enough

I would definitively get the X2-3800 ... in fact id shuffle the budget arround to accomodate it
