after buying a clawhammer 3700+ off of newegg, i just kind of read through the CPU101 section again and saw that socket 754 doesnt support dual channel ram. i forget, is dual channel basically DDR or is it something else? because i dont want to end up wiith a good CPU and crappy ass ram. thanks

it two or more sticks of ram that can be accessed similtaneously. whereas this cant be done on single channel systems. admittidly i haven't noticed the performance difference when comparing different systems with single channel and dual channel

haha, i was hoping you would see this, i notice you have the same CPU. yea, because i was just on newegg, and i tracked down like, a suggested mobo, then saw a couple of suggested ram options, and theyre ddr sdram. i just wanted to make sure. thanks man

lol.... ive been trying to get a replacement cpu for my system cos mine is screwed and i dont fancy paying international shipping and taxes to bring it into the uk. i cant find them in the UK :(

you mean a replacement 3700? yea, i got all excited because i got it for like 184 usd, but then i did some looking around and found that i got have gotten it new for 270 and it was a combo deal with a free mobo. but whatever, i still got one.

yeah, my processor eats ram situated in the second ram slot, which limits my upgrades. anyway, when i get a job im gonna start my new build which should be rather tasty

Get a basic 60mm or 80mm fan or something and bolt it to the corner of the CPU's HSF :)
