sup everyone, im in the process of building a new computer. Ive decided to go w/ an AMD dual core processor. I noticed some are 3800, 4400 etc. I was just curious is there a noticable difference between a 3800 and 4200? The computer will be used for gaming, some graphic design work, and music production. thx.

I'm pretty sure that both use the manchester core, so the only difference will be the clock speed, a .2 GHz difference. That said, that difference should be easily obtained by overclocking. I'd say that the 3800 is a better choice, because of a price tag that is $75 less, and it can easily reach the performance of the 4200.

cool, well the most im willing to spend ona processor is prolly 500, but thats pushing it, so just for curiositys sake, when would i start noticing the difference from the 3800 with out o/cing?thanks in advance thanks for the replies :)
