3870 power usage?

ok so this next week im going to by my friends 3870. the problem is, that i have 1 PSU of 250W and a psu of 300W. i can afford to upgrade the psu and gpu this month so i wanted to upgrade psu next month.

just wondering if i can use the 250W with the 3870. i prefer the 250W as it has 2 Sata power cables.
 
For a whole system with a 3870, it uses around 118 watts at idle and 230 watts at load. What kind of power supplies are they?
 
If I were you, I'd bite my tongue and just wait it out for the new PSU. I wouldn't trust any "decent" card on either of those. If you feel like it'd be fine for a month, do what you want, but I wouldn't.
 
i think a month would be fine, i wont be doing any light gaming on it anyway. not until i upgrade the CPU and RAM.
 
most probably im just gonna leave the 3870 and psu for this month and keep the rest of my money for next month. get both at the same time.
