3D Software

Anyone know of any good 3D design software? I'm not so experienced with design software. Got some experience, but not much.. Needs to be able to input millimeters as dimensions.

As Noobish as it sounds.... Couldn't you use photoshop? It has Filters that can make it 3D I know photoshop very well, but have only done one thing with 3D and that was for like a book... I think your best luck is looking through the filters in photoshop

Are you talking about 3D modeling? Blender is free for every platform. Google SketchUp is ok for real rough modeling. What are you using the software for? If you're wanting to design models for drafting purposes, that's a totally different ball park.

i bought a Maya book a few years back, came with a trial software disk.
you could do all the examples in the book; the only thing is that all drawings had a watermark so you couldn't use them for profit use.

not bad imo.
