on 3dmark05 i got 11,000 3d marks with xp installed i just installed vista and ran it again and only got 9,000 3d marks whats going on there am i better on xp?

Try 3dmark06 as it is newer. And ya, vista is more demanding in general so your scores will probably be lower (speculation).

Did you make sure you had the same drivers for each device, and that it's up to date?

Thats pretty strange, because i've run similar tests and I got about the same score with XP and Vista.
