3dmark06....wow

Well I finally got around to running 3dmark06 on my computer (dell...never again) and all I have to say is "wow." I wasn't expecting much, but I guess I had my hopes too high...as I got a score of 1161.

At first I just accepted it, and decided to build a computer next time...but after thinking about it, and searching google, I see other people with the E521 getting higher scores than me, AND they chose lower-end parts when they customized it than I did. Two E521's (both with slower cpus, gpus, and a lesser amount of ram than I) got higher scores (4000 something and 5000 something).

What's going on? Could someone explain this or something? Thanks.

*EDIT* Could it be because I'm running Vista, and maybe they're running XP?

It's impossible for them to get 4-5K with even lower end parts then you.

You ran 3DMark06, they probably ran 3DMark05 to get their scores.

my sister has an E521 with a pentium D, 1gb RAM, and integrated graphics, i think it scored under 1000 on 3dmar06. the computer is horrible for gaming. but i would think yours would be somewhere in the low 4s or high 3s with the specs you posted. you should exit all other apps and processes before running 3dmark06, did you do that?

It would have to be far under 1000 in '06, because even that is high for integrated video.

just so you know, the CPU test is always going to be low. the best processors out today barely reach 5fps. however they designed it, it is supposed to be very low i guess
Yup, for the most part when I run the CPU test it's only around 1FPS, but maxes out at 2 occasionally.
