4 or 1?

would I get better performance with 4 7300gt's or one x1900 xt. though the xt would probably be better suited for the future...

it isn't, a friend of mine thought so too. would be cool, but doesn't exist and, uh, you might want to consider what type of power that would take anyway. 800w anyone?

Maybe you can do it with one of those quad royal SLI boards from Gigabyte, maybe...But that would be a waste of money.

Considering that a GeForce 7300GS consumes around 16W of power?

Even running 4 of them consumes less power than a single 7900GTX.

and supply about 1/3 the performance a 7900gtx would... then again quad sli doesn't exist so i cant prove it... but less frequency plus only 4 pipes, thats about as good as what, a 6800gt? lol

How, might I ask, do you plan to run 4 7300's?

Oh yeah, and if it was even possible, the x1900 XT is still better.

i plan to run 4 7300 gt's in quad SLI...its possible. check out the apple site for the mac pro. 4 of em. you can also google quad SLI and you will see its possible.

Whyyyyyy??? If running 2 7600gts instead of a 7900gt/x is a bad idea, then running 4 7300gt is a horrriibblleee idea. Unless you're just experimenting or osmething...

As far as I know, the only way for consumers to use quad-sli is if they buy 2x dual-video cards, such as the two 7950GX2's.

And having 4x 7300's would be much worse then having a high end card. Even having two x1300PRO's in crossfire doesn't match up to an x1600PRO.

Ya the mac pro does have 4 pci-e slots, but that doesn't necissarily mean that they can be run in sli. First off I doubt nvidia has the drivers, you would also need a special sli bridge. The power pc is really a workstation pc, its mean to support lots of monitors all running independently on independently run gpu's.
