4-pin molex controller

Right now my slot fan is the loudest thing in my system, by far. It has a 4-pin molex connection. When I'm not playing games, I would like to keep it off for the silence. But the way I have it, it sucks air from the video card exhaust so it is important when gaming. If there any way I could get an external on/off switch or a controller for this fan? Right now I'm just manually unplugging it and plugging it back in. Thanks!

Haha maybe. Well I most likely wouldn't be able to mount it to the outside and if I did, that would defeat the purpose of a controller. As of now I'm opening up the case to unplug it. Haha, well I only have only expansion slot left so I don't think I want one of those speed controllers. Would a plain resistor work? I need it on for my video card exhaust, it's just really loud.

why you usng a molex? use the fan headers on the mobo, and the BIOS will control it.
And yeah just wire a switch to it. Its just a simple 12v DC fan.

Well I don't have any drive bays available. It's a regular HP Pavilion. 2 drive bays, one is used, one is full of power supply cables, haha. Then I have an HP Pocket Media Drive Bay. Well when it's off video card gets too hot, when it's on it's way too loud. If anything I think I just need a resistor. If it's too much of a hassle (eg. splicing wires), the noise is worth the cooling. The only thing I found was this.

I could probably keep the controller internal and stow away somewhere in the case. The Sunbeam had better reviews in terms of the difference between low to high speed, but the Apevia is a 4-pin molex controller. Any cable that I could use to convert my 4-pin molex fan to run on a 3-pin?

just buy a switch (like 1.00) , some heatshrink (2.00) and some 1m of suitable wire (like 2.00) and make up a switch.
