$400-500 laptop

friend is in the market......wants to play games.....anything with a half decent processor, a bit of ram, a video card, and a hd? Vista Home Basic?

I doubt any $500 laptop can play games well, because it will have an integrated graphics card.

No, you need a bigger bugget for a laptop if you want to play games... a sort of budget we are tyalking about is close to $1,000

Yes, I agree with cohen. I had a $600 laptop that was on sale, and it could only play games from a few years ago. Games that only ran on high settings with 2fps. My new laptop runs the same game with 60fps. If you get a computer in that price range, it will most likely not preform well with games, multitasking, almost anything but internet surfing.

these are what you can get for 500 bucks max. all of them have integrated video chipsets that won't play any of the newer games.

Dell Vostro Laptops are good price, but they are integrated video, however, I can play GTA SA on max settings on it.

That's odd, my laptop with integrated graphics gets 1-2fps for gtasa on max settings.

^^ LOL now thats low!!! 20-30fps is barely even playable. I get around 70-80fps which is sometimes not enough esp during burnouts
