well my friend wants a tower, just for internet and videos and such... the basic user computer and such. so she doesnt know anything about comps and is trusting me to build a good comp for $400...

i know what to put in it but im just looking for suggestions and opinions. im thinking an AM2 sempron, a gig of memory, and a 250gig hard drive or somethin like that... pretty basic.

If she's doing video editing, I wouldn't recommend a Sempron.....more along the lines of a C2D.

its hard to fit that into a $400 budget... can be done, but with a crappy mobo and such.. ill try to spec one tomorrow after i unpack the uhaul..

LOL. Here ya go

I couldn't go C2D even with a crappy mobo. I had would have had to throw in like an 80GB HD and go less ram. Not worth it really.

So here it is:
Pentium D 805

What about the OS? Didn't budget that in. Not sure if I could with this setup. I built a similar rig for a co-worker and he loves it other than the PSU is noisy lol.
