It's a very strict budget for a low-mid level programming/gaming rig, I know.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128357
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115055
Galaxy GeForce 9600 GT OC 512MB 256-bit GDDR3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162007
Total: $382.96
Minus the mail-in rebates: $347.95

I have some old RAM one of my friends gave me that'll work and I'm going to reuse my hard drives. I picked that case because it's small and would fit well in my dorm room.

Suggestions?

You should expand your budget if at all possible.

That's a fairly good processor, in a crap motherboard.

It only supports 800mhz RAM, and only 4gigs. If you ever want to upgrade at all, your going to have a hard time.

I think that you should expand your budget, get a decent power supply, decent RAM, and a new harddrive.
