4200+ 2.2 GHz, but whats 65watts mean?

ya i noticed my CPU(AM2) says 65watts on the box, what exactly does this mean/do? will it have the same preformance as the non 65 watt 4200?
 
yeah im pretty sure they have the same performance, but arent the 64W cpus more expensive to buy?
 
65W is the TDP of it. It's how maximum power the heatsink has to dissipate to keep the CPU's junction temperature below it's max.
 
Yea you will get the performance as a regular 4200 2.2ghz, it might even clock alittle better.
