I'm right now in the market for a new proccy...I've been looking around and want to pull away from intel and move on over to AMD, but...being a intel user, I haven't the slightest idea on which AMD proccessors are good or not. I play tons of games, but I do also want dual core....also being that games in the next few years are going to be multi threaded I think the next proc I get should be dual core...I have been looking and picked http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103546

Good? Bad? Suggestions?

Very Good

That's a very very decent CPU you have chosen. I would recommend you to read some reviews first but I can assure you that the performance will be great. Having dual core is definitely something worth it in the longer term. However, we still have yet to see games which would use dual cores come our way.

Personally i dont think the extra 512K per core is worth the price delta up from the 4200 but it's your money

CPU 101.

Having half the amount of cache...wouldn't I see somesort of difference between the two...

it doesnt work as lineally as that, though the larger cache may seem better, the larger latencies that come with it eat into your gains.
