450watts enough for 8800 gts?

A GeForce 8800 GTS requires a minimum 400W power supply with 12V current rating of 26A. To be on the safe side I would look for a good 500+W PSU with the minimum of 12V current rating of 26A.

To continue what ghost said: look at the specs on the PSU. There should be a sticker with how many amps are on each rail. You want to look at the 12v rail(some have two)

I have seen power rating for that beast and they are massive. I think a 400w PSU would have a hard time powering it, not even including other computer parts!

i just installed my new psu, i LOVE IT IT SOLVED MANY PROBLEMS i am positive that it would power your 8800GTX without a problem: ocz gamexstream 700W psu $150USD

this has the power to handle anything on the market, it is even better than most any antec with the same or lower wattage. (i saw this on a product review page, but i cant remember the link. it wasnt joking i believe, it showed a graph lol)
