TO actually answer your question...

I have an ASUS A8N5X MOBO, which seems to be a very good board to me (although I will admit my knowledge base is less than many of the posters here). ASUS is known for making high quality compnents, especially in the higher end stuff. A8N Line http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...tion=a8n&Submit=ENE&N=0&Ntk=all&Go.x=0&Go.y=0

The M2N line seesm to be a main line of ASUS's AM2 entries http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...89&Submit=ENE&Manufactory=1315&SubCategory=22

In either case, you can probably fid a good MOBO for <$150.

Whichever socket you decide, choose a board that fits your budget and has the features you want.

I would definitely consider the Conroe unless you are presently tied to an AMD system. If you are then the X2 should be fine, but the Conroe would be the better deal if you're starting from scratch.

Why not just get the 4400 and OC it to 2.4ghz? Theres a pretty big price difference.........or there was, havent checked lately.
