im planning to get a 4850, maybe next month or so. i've read some reviews and found that this card is pretty hot, about 70 even when it's idle. i was wondering if the Asus version, with Glaciator fan, of this card have the same problem. any idea?

i dunno about the 4850 temps but i have a Asus 8800GT with the Glaciator cooler and its awesome, very quiet,100% pure copper and my idle temp is 38c,doesnt go above 60 when gaming in crysis.

i highly reccomend Asus though, they may seem more expensive than some of its competitors but they make great stuff.

When you get it, download the newest rivatuner and set the fanspeed to "fixed" 50%.. and select "apply these settings at startup". The asus probably has a better cooler, it may not have the problem.

I now idle at around 45c, and load around 70c

lol my load temps with the arctic cooling accelero s1 revision 2 are soooo low... never gets above 26.5C

i highly recommend it. oh, and i have the turbo fan module too, clips on comfortably and my hard drive is louder.
