4870 problem

So just bought a 4870 1gb card and iam having a problem. When i open programs or an internet page a get a quick very anooying flash of black. which is very fast. Though i do not get it when i play games. This also did not happen when i had no drivers installed. I updated to the newest drivers still no. I also tried in installing it with out the caylast controler. it is seems to be happen when i run anything except for a game. The temp are not to hot for a 4870 to help plz

Nvm i fixed the problem. The memory clock comes stock at 950 mhz so i messed around with it and tried 900mhz and it fixed my issue. Though it is hella dumb i hvae to underclock my card to get it to work ughh
 
dude! bummer. i'm running both my cards at 1000mhz memory clock with no issues, and have even gone up to 1020mhz. maybe you got a dud.

also, maybe you don't think it's a heat issue, but in my case, i was seeing artifacts until i upped the fan speed 15% and they went away. you might still want to try that, unless you mind the extra noise.
 
Thx but yeah i tried all of that and i even contacted amd and they said it was a know problem though the 9.7 were going to fix this issue. So i got the 9.8 or w/e and still no luck. But for 140 after tax it was awesome deal and it still kills things lol
