Ok, I'm just curious if ATI radeon contracts out thier cards to other manufactures such as Visiontek, HIS, Diamond ans Saffire?

Just I noticed the same exact cards but just different companies building them.

So, being said... would every manufacture be a different quality?

If so, which would be the most reliable?

I want to get the 4870 tommorrow and I was thinking to get it Saffire. But it is a 60$ difference from VisionTek

Thanks :)

Kinda, is true every manufacturer would have different quality but spec wise such as the fan, etc etc it would be the same.

Just that some companies like visiontek offer better warranty vs companies like sapphire

cool,

Im going to need a new PSU for this card....is this one sufficient?...

Corsair HX 520W Modular Power Supply w/ Triple +12V

The card does require a 500W supply, but with that wattage would it be borderline and effect the card and cpu performance?

Any other suggestions for PSU's?

You need a new PSU. The rest of your computer parts will run more then 20 watts lol. Get like a 750 watt and you should have no problems at all.

500W is the recommendation for the entire system, not just the video card.

The HX520W is quite adequate for a single card, if you're planning on Crossfire or other significant upgrades, it would be a good idea to go higher.

To give you an idea, my system (also using a 4870) draws about 270W from the wall running 3DMark06.
