maximus extreme x38
4870x2
2x 500gb hard drives
windows xp pro

any help would be great! :D

just either lower the res or shading a little, crysis is a hard game to max, and if your psu isn't keeping up with the cards then it can do strange stuff, another option , if the psu is fine, would be to overclock a little and should stabalize it.

I had a similar if not exact issue on the same game. I put together a I7 920 system with a 4870X2 and gave it to my son in law. The flicker in the sky drove him crazy. I think I had to completely remove the driver and reloaded it. I'm not sure if I lowered the settings or not, but it did solve his problem. I originally just searched to update driver and it didn't work. Deleteing everything and rebooting and reloading solved this issue to the best of my knowledge.

That is very starnge, i have a 3870 x2 and do not get flickering in the sky and can play on the settings below the highest with ease, your card is much more superior to mine so should have no problem. Clearing the old drivers and reinstalling is a good option.

What psu do you have, i assume its good due to the rest of your specs but just making sure as the 4870 x2 is a bit of a beast
