This is a slight departure from the topic (only slight though). I have been searching for a solution to a monitor driver issue I've been having and my searches for a solution keep zeroing me in on Nevakonaza's posts (because of the signature) as we share very similar PC set-ups. Most importantly, we have the same monitor (LG M2262D), operating system (Win 7 - 64 bit) though mine's the 'Ultimate' edition, and we both have variants of the 1GB Radeon 4890 (mines a Sapphire).
Anyway, the issue is Windows 7 keeps insisting that what I've plugged in is the smaller LG M2062 with a max resolution of 1600x900. I've tried installing the Win 7 driver for the M2262D (max resolution 1920x1080) from the LG site and also from the disk provided with the monitor. While Win 7 acknowledges every time I update the driver to say it is installed, Win 7 then continues to insist that the display I have connected to the PC is the M2062 (no other options are available in the drop down list). I cannot seem to override it in any way and it insists on limiting me to 1600x900. And yes, I've rebooted after every attempted driver update.
I'm connecting via a DVI cable and consequently have been installing digital versions of the driver. I presume that DVI should be the preferred choice of cable.
Any help greatly appreciated.
