4bib vs 8gb mem

right now i am running 4gb of ram (4x1 800mhz) in a ds3 board with a intel e6600. I got a guy who wants to buy my ram for more then its worth really and i could get a good bit of money towards a 4x2gb sticks for a total of 8gbs. will i even notice a performance difference??

not a big gamer but lots of downloading and burning cds/dvds and lots of mutil tasking

I have 2 gb's and its way more than enough and I multi task and game ALOT.

Your computer won't be able to utilize more than 4gb, so it's pointless.

You could probably get away with running 2gig and not even notice a performance hit. You would have to be doing some very taxing multi tasking to eat up 4 GIgs of ram.

why is that??

32 bit OS (if you have 64 bit you have worse off problems) so 32bit OS only can recognize and read up to 4GB.
