4yr old mobo, trying to upgrade CPU...HELP!!!

I put together (4 years ago) an Abit BX6 version 2 with slot 1 architecture for CPU. Trying to upgrade from P3 500Mhz to P3 1Ghz. I cannot get past the "2 IDE Drives detected". I've tried putting in the old processor and get the same thing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

try clearing your bios. and make sure that your hdds are connected correctly.

Try booting with one HDD and upgrading to latest firmware...

i would check your motherboard on the net as it might not support 1GHz........

Check your motherboard manufacturer for a bios update

If you do decide to do the upgrade make sure you provide the chip with enough voltage
