5.1 Audio Problems

Please help.

I have an Asus P5KPL/1600 Mobo with an intergrated VIA VT1708B soundcard.

I used to have 2.1 speakers but i recently upgraded to 5.1 via optical lead etc. The pc must think i still have 2.1 speakers connected and I cant use 5.1. It doesnt appear in any apps.

Is there a driver I can download or anything out there PLEASE HELP

What the problem is, it seems, is that my computer only recognises 2 audio channels.
