5.1 question

How come when i play musics on my comp. I can't seem to get all my speakers to make sound. It only does for my front speakers and the subwoofer. Help?

music is only encoded in 2 channels. your subwoofer is used due to the absence of a woofer in your speakers. Some sound cards have "environments" that would force the sound to all speakers, but the rear speakers will most likely be an echo of sorts.

When i play HL2 and spam music using a program called HLSS which plays the same exact 2 channel music but it actually played on all speakers...
