I'm looking spend 500-600 on a new pc. I already have, new HD, monitor, mouse, kb, speakers...so i just need the main system.

I want to start playing some new games so I guess AMD and a nice video card and (5.1) sound card are important.

Do any decent video cards come with tv tuner and remote or should that be bought seperate?

I'll probably order today from newegg so the best deals right now would be helpful.

Thanks everyone!

What does everyone this? I went a little over so if you could help me change some stuff to get me down by $50 or so that would be great. Although...I do want to keep the case I have.

Are all core components compatible? Open to any comments please.

I guess I should have made myself more clear. I need all the components I have listed but I can downgrade anything. I for the most part just picked a MB without much thought and I probably went a little over board with it on price. the same is true with the processor.

I'm not going to be doing really heavy gaming so could I possibly get a slower processor? I really don't know the little diference that may be costing me a bunch more money.

Thanks all

Won't work - that's a socket 754 processor with a socket 939 motherboard

You don't need to pay the extra for an SLI motherboard, unless you intend to use it.

oops, lol. did that wuicl. they sell the CPU for 939 though, right?

first of all gigabyte boards arent great overclockers and for your budget with a DFI motherboard you can soon be performing like you spent 200 more $

also Venice cores seem to be great overclockers so this is in check:

for RAM you arent gaming so you wont need anything special: 2 of these

the CPU heatsinkfan combo was a good idea, especially with the nice overclocking machine hes going to get :)

throw in a decent video card even if hes not going to game:

get the refurbished one as it will save you money. and your not in dire need of it to be new anyway.
as far as optical drives go.

that comes to a total of about 625 including your case. and its a beast of a system that cpu motherboard combo is going to overclock very nicely and youll be extremely pleased with that part of the system and that gfx card even though refurbished is going to run new games without lag.
