Hi, I am going to be building a computer for my dad who has a $500 budget. He will be doing no gaming and will be using it for watching DVD's, maybe creating DVD's, word applications, internet, etc. He does not need a monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard, just the desktop its self. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Cohen strikes again... If you can't do a $500 build without a monitor or accessories, then wow...

Here's a basic layout. Keep in mind that a lot of these products are from memory and I didn't do any price-watching. Even if you swap out some parts for more expensive ones, still well within your range.

Well if you're not going to be doing any gaming, or basically anything demanding, why not get something at the Black Friday sale? It saves a lot of time, money, and possible problems with putting everything together. I bought mine for $450 and all I've added is an 8600GT, new PSU, and 1 GB of RAM.
