500 Gig Hard drive-removing dormant status

Hello,

I bought a Cavalry 500 Gig external HD for my satellite receiver. I need to know how to remove its dormant or hibernation status.

How do I do that?

If you connecting that through or it's limited to usb that's the normal standby being seen. The eSata option would be the move since that's under direct control of the onboard sata/RAID controllers being plugged into a sata port via an extension cable to a port on an adapter card or on the case itself.
