512mb at 400 or 768mb at 333Mhz?

my pc came with a gigabyte motherboard,with dual channel capabilities(supports fsb 800). I have also installed 2 ram sticks of
256mb each, running at 400Mhz. If I add my old memory stick as well (256mb 333Mhz) would that improve the performance of my system, since I will have more memory or wouldn't it, since I won't be able to fully use the capabilities of my m/b?
 
more is better

as a general rule, more RAM is usually better, there is not a huge difference between the speeds your RAM would be operating at and so it shouldn't make that much difference.
