I just thought i would say.
after having many problems with my linksys router and playing half life and its mods over steam ive finally brought it to a closer!.DOD is back online!! same for cs,half-life and many other games.I was having withdrawl symptons from dod.playing it for 5 years, then i didn't paly it for over 4 months but im back in action

For the record the problem with linksys router was the firmware version.
dod,cs and half life they all run off ver 1.45.7 or lower. Anything higher and in between other firmware versions half life cannot be ran.
i figured this out after a long long time reserching and friggin with my router

linksys routers suck i bought one and it kept losing the settings for my wireless pc i plated cod uo and if i had a mate around i had to keep loading the saved settings into the ruter
