They dont make 7200RPM 500GB drives for laptops. And the 10K drives are only for desktops.I use these: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 ST3500641AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM. 500gb will hold about 150 DVDs
5400RPM is usually fine, 4200RPM is when you really notice a slow down. And also with a 7200, you will get lower battery life.It makes no sense to buy a 5400RPM hard drive. Do they even make those anymore? Oh wait you're talking about a laptop. Get the 7200RPM anyway, better performance.
