5870 install issue

I just removed my 4890 and installed a 5870. I removed the old software and installed the new up to date drivers.

CPUZ shows core 157 mhz and memory 300 and my windows score went from 7.7 to 6.0. What am I doing wrong?
 
More info, at first CPUZ shows high seting for 1 second before showing low setting. I have another 5870 in my friends comp that works perfect in his computer but does the same thing in my computer.
 
It's the low power setting. MS is so retarded that they only bench your card in 2d clocks. Think about it this way, your card as at 1/5 the clock of your old one but still gets 6.0.
 
Do you have any idea how I fix that?

When I go into the CCC driver it also shows I am only getting 157 /300
 
I guess I am concerned because my friends does not do this. Any idea why his does not, ASUS MOBO, everything else the same as mine.
 
There's nothing wrong with your card, it's designed so that when ot in use it clocks itself down to save power. (aka, 2d mode) then when you need it the card will clock itself back up to the original clocks.

And honestly, those windows 7 scores meaning next to nothing. they give you bragging rights and that's about it.
 
His does it too, everyone's does it. Mine does it. NCspec's does it. A few might have as I mentioned OCing programs to override the switch to 2d clocks or even perhaps custom BIOS but my question is, why do you care? You don't need 2.4teraflops of calculation power to render your desktop. You barely need a gflop (exaggeration).
 
Thank you for the help and you seem to right, I think you already knew this. I appreciate your time. I just ran the test again and watched the CCC and the speed numbers went up and down. WE is now 7.8 for some reason.

I appreciate the help. As new to computer building I was concerned that I did something wrong or bought a bad part.
